Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, west of Sixth Avenue, our vast and lengthy experience in teaching Italian to New Yorkers furthers our students' mastery of the language, which is often tied to their professions, cultural heritage, travels, studies, and often, simply for the pleasure of knowing Italian. We guide you in the step-by-step discovery of Italian from basic to advanced usage, as well as hand you a 'slice' of Italy--its cultural aspects, body language, and contemporary daily life. We discuss art, historic sites, and all manner of gastronomic traditions. Click for traditional recipes. We stress the pleasures of Italian language and culture, having found that the most effective learning is achieved in an enjoyable atmosphere.   Our courses are taught by professional experienced native speakers who follow the curriculum in use at the University of Perugia in Italy. We offer instruction at all levels, thoroughly covering grammar, syntax and pronunciation through conversation, and written and reading assignments. As a supplement to our regular courses, we now offer a Grammar Clinic: special grammar classes are held as single lessons with specific emphasis to review and perfect use of grammar.   To ensure individual attention, classes are limited to a maximum of twelve; therefore we urge you to register as soon as possible. Applicants who are not beginners are given placement tests and interviewed. We realize that classes sometimes have to be missed. Therefore we offer, as a courtesy, when possible the chance to make up missed classes in another group during the session.   Private lessons and translation services are available upon request.
